A story about a much-loved VW Kombi, a trip around Australia and shipping the old girl back to the UK

Missing Some Old Relatives

Well, missing a couple of old vans, actually. Do you know the whereabouts of these vehicles, registered in the UK?

  • DTG 463 J - AKA ‘Booble’. Last known wearing a lilac paint job with a couple of Ribena men airbrushed on her (one puking up on one side, one taking a whizz on the other side to create the graphic ’splash’ along the side)
  • NHX 755 P - AKA ‘Slimer’, a panel van. Was painted a bright green colour, not unlike this picture of a photoshopped Ethel

I’ll post a few pics when I get around to scanning them in.

Finally, do you know the whereabouts of this van? It was sold to a guy in Perth, WA, Australia in early 2003 (as far as I recall) and belonged to my brother. It’s got a pretty distinctive paint job. We knew her as Winnie, and I’d love to know where she is now:

Winnie

Winnie, last spotted in Perth, Australia.

If you know anything about these vans, please let me know (either using the contact page or in the comments below)
